Broadband Access:
Crash Course, Importance, and Advocacy
This workshop was designed as part of The National Youth Employment Coalition’s National Thought Leaders project, featuring Partners for Education and Lead for America, to emphasize the importance of internet access in the role of broadening and creating a more skilled and dynamic workforce.
The panel featured 3 OYUnited leaders: Julie Jent, a former member of the National Council of Young Leaders, and two current members of the National Council of Young Leaders, Rhea Carter and Conner Thomas. As National Council Members, all three were supported by Partners for Education at Berea College, one of our sponsoring organizations.
In hosting this panel, Partners for Education and Lead for America hope to highlight not only the importance of proliferating the online workforce — but also, the steps that need to be taken from an infrastructure and broadband advocacy approach that will increase the equity of digital workforce opportunities.
